I miss this place.

I feel very out of touch with so many of the friends that I made here; Tumblr isn't the same, really.  I miss fanfic, I miss the community.

So, *shrugs* here I am.

I hope I can still find some familiarity in this place.  Really craving familiarity right now.  The last few times I've been on Tumblr, I scrolled through and realized, "I don't recognize any of these names."  And it was depressing.  Plus, the messaging system over there is shite. :P

Anyway, maybe nobody here will remember me, except for a few of you.  Or maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.  But it was always easier to meet new friends, here, and laugh, and stay connected.

OH!  A couple of really cool new updates:  For anyone that knows/knew me:  My journey coming out as bisexual started right here on LJ, and wow, I will never forget it and I will always be so grateful to those folks who helped me on that journey, whether they knew they were a part of it or not.  So it's been a few years, but I'd say that journey now is probably complete.

Over 2014 and 2015, I went through that slogging, tough work of trying to come out to more of my friends, and then eventually, my family.  The friends part was actually pretty easy.  I got on Facebook finally, and I just...well, made my profile public with my orientation preference listed, and...started adding work friends.  And you know, I've gotten so much good stuff out of that.  Nobody batted an eye, and I feel very loved.

And of course, in 2015, on June 26th the United States Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage.  Highlight of my life!  :D   I felt like a legitimate 'person' for the first time in my entire life.

Finally, through a longer process with my mom (had been working on her for a while, but she didn't really get the idea) and a pretty short one with my dad, I had the conversation with my parents.  And I was blessed last year to know that both of my parents love me just the same, and nothing has changed in my relationship with either of them.  That is so amazing to me, and it's possibly the greatest gift of my life.  So much weight and stress has been lifted off of my shoulders, and in so many ways I'm happier now than I have been in a very, very long time.

Life CAN be good, and though things are horribly frightening when you have to face them, if you're reading this, I hope you know that it will all be okay, some day.  It just...I know how it feels when you're so scared you think you're going to throw up, or that you'll die, or that you're about to take a step that makes you think you're going to wreck everything, destroy your whole life in one swoop.  Please just take heart.  That's all I can say.

Whether you believe or not in God or some power, know that there is a force out there that is out to do you good.  And when you are able to bring your courage and honesty, especially if you ask for help for it, you will find yourself supported.  Little ways, and big.  From side avenues, and direct roads.  You won't be alone.  It will start to get better.  And it may just get magnificent. <3

If anyone ever needs any help or support, please message me.  My email is listed in my profile (it's maybe the most reliable way), or you can message me here.

To everyone I've ever known on LiveJournal, thank you.  I love you all.  I'm going to try to make this place a habit once again.

Love and affection,
Morrow

Well, on my computer DVD player, the last one in was Legend of the Seeker, The Complete Second Season.

2. If you were abandoned in the wilderness, would you survive?

My mom.

4. Is that your natural hair color?

Yes.  It's always been.

6. Are any of your great-grandparents still alive?
No.

7. Do you have a crush on anyone?
Not currently.

8. Do you have any weird phobias?
Just spiders.  I'm pretty freakish about it.

9. Can you lick your elbow?
*tries*  DARN IT!  I thought for sure I'd be able to, but I can only come within 2 inches of it.

10. If you jumped out your bedroom window right now, how injured would you get?
None at all.

11. If you woke up as the opposite sex, what’s the 1st thing you would do?

Water.

16. Do fish make good pets?
I don't think so.

17. Would you rather have a pet Ostrich or a pet Sheep?

18. Has an animal ever attacked you?
A gerbil.  My hatred for gerbils lives on.  Vicious little &#$*

36. Where does number one live?
n/a

37. Would you date them?
n/a

38. What do you think of weddings?
Ugh.  I hate them, mostly.  This is because of all of the crap obligations that go along with not being one of the two becoming wed.  I hate parties, generally, too--so there's not even that aspect that I can enjoy.  You have to wear uncomfortable clothes, you have to tolerate people you otherwise wouldn't, you have to shell out your own money for somebody else just because they've decided to be together (gifts), and if you're unlucky like me, you're almost never invited unless it's under the request of being a member of the wedding party.  (Even worse.)

Wow, my hair's really a mess.

58. Did you know that twinkle twinkle little star and the alphabet have the same rhyme?
Yes.  (I think you mean 'tune.')

59. Did you just sing them to make sure?
lol  One of them, yes.  Even though I've done this before and already knew it was the same.  *rollseyes*

60. Do you prefer stripes or polka dots?
Ugh.  Stripes.  I don't think anyone in the world truly thinks polka dots are all that spiffy.  Well, maybe--obviously, somebody does, or did, at one time--or some do; but those people shouldn't breed.

61. If you had to, would you rather eat maggots or worms?
Worms.  Because they eat dirt, and not decaying flesh.  But I'd dry them out, some, first.  Maybe fry them.

62. Have you ever seen a sunflower in real life before?
Yes, but it was from a distance, unfortunately.

63. Did you ever beg your parents for a pony?
No; I'm pretty sure I knew that would be useless.  Not that I didn't dream of a black one.  (And not a 'pony,' a horse.)

64. Have your Parents ever washed your mouth out with Soap?
No.

65. Do you find Russell Brand funny or irritating?
I've never actually watched him in anything.

66. Do you ever pop other people’s bubbles they blow with their gum?

A cordless Xbox 360 game controller.  xD  (Used on a PC.  I'm special.)

No.  Only partially.  ;)

71. Do you prefer peppermint or spearmint?

Eh...probably about $35.  $40 if it was just super-duper, duper-damn special.

73. If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
That one that is a cross between a dark violet blue and a deep purple.  One of those ones.  More on the blue side.

74. How many tv's in your house?
Two right now (one is another person's).

75. Type your name using only your elbow...
Morrow

76. Are you hoping this quiz finishes soon?
Meh.

77. Are you ever purposely irritating?
Sometimes.  But only if I really dislike someone and they're being an ass.  But I don't try to hide or deny that I'm doing it to irritate them; I'm flagrant about it.  (i.e., usually wearing a cheesy, shit-eating grin and it's plain on my face that I'm deriving evil pleasure from it)  (-Because I really hate passive aggression; so I make mine obvious.)  *g*

78. If you were another person would you be friends with you?
I don't know.  Just because it's hard to see ourselves from the outside.

79. Do you still have your tonsils and your appendix?
Both, yes.

80. Favourite sports to watch?
Ugh.  I don't, really.  I kind of hate watching most sports.  I think I've said it before, but I enjoy watching downhill skiing.  So there's that.

81. Can you play Poker?
No, but I wish I could.  I want to at least learn & know how.

82. Do people ever make stupid mistakes when spelling or saying your name?
Nope.

83. Have you ever touched an Elephant?
I can't recall.  My zoo trips were many years ago.  I want to say yes, but I'm not sure if I just think I'm remembering one time.

84. Have you had a Birthday so far this year?
Yes.

85. Do you like to have ice in your drinks?
No.

86. Have you ever used a metal detector to look for treasure?
Yes; my uncle made and sold them, as a hobby.  And my dad had one for a while, that I played with occasionally.  Very rarely, though.  It was boring because I never found anything.

87. Do you prefer Lemons or Limes?
Well, I find more uses for lemon, but I think I kind of like the taste of 'lime' as a taste just a little better than I like lemon.

88. Do you prefer trampolines or bouncy castles?
Oh trampolines, definitely.

89. Have you ever crawled through a window?
I think so.  Again, I can't recall a specific instance, but I'm sure I have.

90. Did your parents spoil you as a child?
Not really.

91. Look behind you, what do you see?
My bed.

92. Have you ever lost anything down a toilet?
Nope.

93. Do you prefer beef, pork, or lamb?
You know, I don't think I've ever tried lamb.  So...beef.

94. Are you an aunt/uncle?
Nope.  No siblings.

95. Do you know all the words to your national anthem?
I think so, but don't ask me to start singing it, or I might find that something goes horribly wrong....  LOL

96. What comes to mind when I say cabbage?
Mushy.

97. Do you still watch kiddie films and tv shows?
Yes.  I got all excited when they started re-running He-Man and She-Ra on a local channel, lately.  xD  (Just because, nostalgia.  That was my childhood era.)  But after a few eps, I stopped watching them.  But generally speaking, yes.

98. If you were walking down the street and someone sprayed you with water what would you do?
Glare at them, wipe myself off, and say "What the hell?" probably.

99. Have you ever broken a bone?
No.

100. How many times have you moved house?
Oh gosh.  More than I can count.

101. If you could make someone disappear who would it be?
I would have removed George W. Bush from the annals of history.  (Well, I'd pick Hitler, over him--but that one's just such an obvious one.)

102. Curtains or blinds?
Both.  They both have their uses.  And they're kind of lacking, each alone.

103. Can you cook a Sunday Roast?
Only if you don't mind food poisoning.

104. How long has it taken you to complete this Quiz?
Roughly an hour.

If you died and became a ghost and could only haunt one place, which place would you choose, and why?

If I died today?  It wouldn't be any one place.  It would be wherever my best friend (and, to date, the only one I've loved)'s heart was.  I have thought a lot about this question, because I thought a lot about dying (for better or for worse) in H.S.  And I thought if I ever died, I would follow her around and protect her, encourage her when she needed lifting up, and just generally making sure she was well.

Call it a form of courtly love.

But the reason I say "if I died today" is because:  I expect to fall in love again.  And I don't expect such affections to remain undivided forever.  In fact...I want them not to.

Well, I mean:  I want to fall in love with the person I'm meant to fall in love with forever.  And...I've accepted the fact that it's not my BF.  I will always love her and want to protect her and watch out for her, but I suspect that one day there will be a person with whom I will want that more.

I look forward to that day.

But...today...if I died today...that is where I'd 'haunt.'  Where I'd be.  (If such a thing was possible.)

I didn't realize this thing had so many!

Borrowed from lurkete.

1. What curse word do you use the most?
I think it used to be "shit" but now I think it's "fuck"- but just when I'm alone.  "Shit" still goes (happens out loud, sometimes) in public, though.  ;)

2. Do you own an iPod?
No.  I have a Thing made by Creative Labs.

3. What person on your flist do you talk to the most?
Hmm.  Currently, probably a cross between chaotic_fuse81 (mostly over Tumblr, though, and not as much through LJ) and melborousse .

4. What time is your alarm clock set to?
It's NOT.  Bwahahahahhaaah!!  *feels appropriately evil and happy*

5. Do you still remember the first person you kissed?
Pffft.  Technically speaking (whether or not it really counts as a first "kiss") - yes.  This snot-nosed boy (ick), sometime prior to the 3rd grade.  He kissed me.

6. Was it Good?
HA. NO.

7. Would you rather take the picture or be in the picture?
It depends.  On if I'm looking sexy or not.  ;)  *snort*LOL  (J/K!!!)...kind of.

8. What was the last movie you watched?
Imagine Me & You.

9. Do any of your friends have children?
Yes.

10. Has anyone ever called you lazy?
Not in so many words.  =.=

11. Do you ever take medication to help you fall asleep?
No.  Never need to.

12. What cd is currently in your cd player?
Well, this question needs to be updated, as most people aren't using CD players much these days...  But I'll pretend this is asking which song I played last in my MP3 player.  And that is:  Firework, by Katy Perry.

13. Do you prefer regular or chocolate milk?
*sigh*  Well, as I'm lactose intolerant now (never used to be), I'll say chocolate milk, because if I'm going to suffer and/or have to take Lactaid tablets, I'm gonna make it good.  (For a worthwhile reason.)

14. Has anyone told you a secret this week?
I don't...think...so.  *wonders*

15. When was the last time you had Starbucks?
Too long, my friend.  :(  Tooooo long.  I'm unemployed and broke and it's the home brew, for now.  This subject makes me sad.

16. Can you whistle?
Yes.

17. What is the first thing you notice about the opposite/same sex?
Their face.

18. What are you looking forward to?
Getting out of my current living situation.  (i.e., living with a parent due to extenuating circumstances)

19. Did you watch cartoons as a child?
YES.  :D

20. What's your style?
*grimaces*  I hate this question.  This is a stupid question.  'Style' and concern over it is lame.  (In my book.)

21. What will you be doing in one hour?
Probably still be on the computer.  Either reading more fic, or checking my Tumblr.

22. Is anyone in love with you?
That would be nice, wouldn't it?

23. What was the last song you heard?
Probably Firework by Katy Perry.

24. Last time you cried?
I think a few months ago, now.  Like, maybe...I don't know...April?  Or maybe even back further, like in February?  Yeah, it might have been February.  Though I almost cried last weekend when my mom wouldn't agree to go to the doctor.

25. Are you on a desktop computer or a laptop?
Desktop.

26. Are you currently wanting any piercings or tattoos?
No.

27. What’s the weather like?
Unseasonably cool.  Rather blustery, last time I checked.

28. Would you ever date a girl/guy covered in tattoos?
It depends.  I don't like to think I judge based on those things, but the truth is, as a non-tattooed person myself, anything more than a rather unostentatious tat or two would probably be a subconscious turn-off.  But that's merely first impressions and subconscious 1st preferences--like generally preferring some kind of brunette or darker hair to blondes.  It doesn't mean that I couldn't, or don't, ever find blondes attractive, or that a person's blonde-ness would make me averse to getting to know them or potentially liking/falling for them.

29. What did you do before this?
"Do"?  Just now?  I ate dinner.

30. When is the last time you slept on the floor?
Well, technically, living where I am now, I sleep on the floor every night.  Just haven't set a place up for my bed, yet.

31. How many hours of sleep do you need to function?
I can function on zero.  But I can't really go beyond 48 hours and still function very well.  Generally it's best if I have sleep within that 48 hour mark.

As far as the average/normal night's sleep goes...I feel best on 8-10 hours of sleep.  But I used to reguarly go through work weeks at only about 5-6 hours per night.

32. Do you eat breakfast daily?
Meh...now that I'm not working...breakfast and lunch kind of merge.  ;)  When I was working...no.  Not at all.  Starbucks!  ;)

33. Are your days fast-paced?
Not at all, currently.

34. What did you do last night?
Ugh.  Angsted over finances with my mom.  (This is rare, as I am allergic to angsting about my life...even when there's apparent need.  I hate stress.  Especially when it rubs off from other people.)

35. Do you use sarcasm?
Not so much.  But I appreciate an appropriately timed, dryly delivered line.  And I revel in the opportunity to deliver one.  But I don't overuse or abuse it.  :)

36. How old will you be turning on your next birthday?
Well, given I live to see it (God willing), 36.

37. Are you picky about spelling and grammar?
Very.  I'm not a snob; I just can't help myself.  It's natural (to me).  I see it, it bugs me.

38. Gay Bi- Sexual Or Straight?
Bi, mostly.  But I fall in love better easier? more readily? with women.  I've been sexually attracted to men, but have found myself unable to fall in love (truly) with one.  Crushes, yes.  Falling/smitten, no.

With women, smit = yes; crushes = yes; fallen = yes; in love = yes (I think. I'm pretty sure.).

39. Do you get along better with the same sex or the opposite sex?
I tend to be more socially comfortable/at ease with guys.  With girls, I'm either just casual friends/acquaintances with them, or if I'm into them enough to be *closer* friends with them, generally I'm verging upon attraction toward them.  Not always, but...in the past, before I knew I liked girls...that used to happen.  A lot.  *shrugs*  Maybe now that I know I like girls, the attraction/closer friendship line will be more conscious, and more distinct, to me.

40. Do you like mustard?
NO.

41. Do you sleep on your side?
Yes.  But I sleep on all sides.  (I go both/all ways.)   ;)

42. Do you watch the news?
Not really.  I get my news sporadically, as I check into it online.

43. How did you get one of your scars?
I was cutting a wooden broom handle down--the LONG way--with a butcher knife.  Holding the broom handle below the knife with my other fist.  *shakes head*  Yeah, stupid.  I was eleven.  I knew better, but was sure I could control the knife if it started to slip through the grain too fast.  (Huh.  Guess who was wrong?)

44. Who was the last person to make you mad?
My mother.

45. Do you like anybody?
You mean "like-like"?  No.  Not currently.  Not really.  I have the odd interest here and there; mostly curiosity.

46. What is the last thing you purchased?
*thinks*...groceries?

47. What side of the heart do you draw first?
The right, I think, mostly.

48. Can you dive without plugging your nose?
I don't dive.

49. What colour is your razor?
Kind of a dark hot pink, and teal.  (It was the only color available in the razor I like last time I bought it.  Not my preference.)

50. What is your blood-type?
O+

51. Who would you want to be tied to for 24 hours?
Haha...hmm.  I'm going to refrain from answering that question.  Only to say: (With the one I initially thought of) I think it would be...could get...interesting.  I kind of have a death wish, or I'm a glutton for punishment, or something.  I like to poke the lion, let's say.  ;)

Okay, so my "instead" answer:  Tabrett Bethell, of course!  :D  Yippee skippy!!!!  :p

52. What is a rumour someone has spread about you?
Hah...this is funny:  That I am gay.  ;)

This was back in middle school, and it was a former 'best' friend.  And I resented her deeply and held a grudge (still do) against her forever after that time, for 'betraying' me, even if we weren't really close or really like friends any more.  Because, at the time, I thought that it wasn't true (that I liked girls).  So she was spreading a malicious lie (in my opinion).

I know it doesn't make sense, but I still feel that way...that she was spreading an untruth.  And I guess I still feel that way because A) she didn't know; she was only speculating (as *I* didn't even know, let alone would have, or did, mention such a thing to anybody); B) she used to be my friend, and that was rotten.

You shouldn't publicly speculate things which can have serious social implications for a person like that to anybody.  But especially to your new friends, about a former one.  (When the 'split' was amicable, even.  We just drifted, and she started hanging out with mean, bullying, rude, snobby, gossipy girls...and turned ugly.)

53. How do you feel about carrots?
They're orange.
I don't have feelings about carrots.  I generally reserve feelings for people (incl. animals) and situations.  Sometimes, trees.

54. How many chairs at the dining room table?
Well, we don't really have a dining room table per se...there just happens to be one in the kitchen right now because my mom is going to sand it down and work on it and sell it.  And right now there happens to be 1 chair at that table.  Just because it's a place to put it.

55. What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator?
Find a way to call (out).  Wait.
If I were alone, I might see if there was a way I could scale the walls by stretching out my arms and legs and spanning the shortest side.  Just for fun.  Just because I've always kind of wanted to do so but could never guarantee enough time alone without potentially being caught by someone, looking foolish (and/or having crashed into an inglorious heap on the floor).

56. Do you have a crush on anyone?
*smiles*  You could say Tabrett Bethell, but that's too obvious (right)?

No one (that I actually am in contact with), currently.

57. Do you like to sleep?
TONS.  And I like dreaming even more.  Sleep with dreaming?  THE BEST!

58. Do you have hairy LEGS?
Not currently.

59. Would you rather swim in the ocean or a lake?
Depends on the lake.  If it was a stagnant lake (slimy)...the ocean.  *shrugs*  Maybe the ocean anyway.

60. Do you wear a lot of black?
No.  Though I like it.  And I used to wear quite a bit more...though never to the point of appearing Goth.

61. Describe your hair:
Medium brown & auburn, naturally wavy/somewhat curly (at the ends).  Can get natural light-light brown/blondish streaks in the summer.  Not thin; not super thick.  Not the coarsest I've felt, and not the softest.  Pretty average.  Tangles like a bitch.  *grrrr*

Oh.  And right now, mid-way between my shoulders and my breasts in length.  I wear it loose/down.  Sometimes when going out on just an errand I put it up in a pony tail with a baseball cap.  But only if it's not looking that neat down.

62. Where is/are your best friend(s)?
Over 350 miles away.  :(  But one (my cat) lives with me.  :D  *huggles her*

63. Do you have a tan?
Not right now.  But normally at this time of year, I would.

64. Are you a television addict?
No.

65. Do you enjoy spending time with your mother?
*sigh*  When I'm not having to live with her, I enjoy it better.  But generally, yes.  ...In short spurts.

66. Are you a sugar freak?
Unfortunately, YES.

67. Do you like orange juice?
I LURRRRVE orange juice.  I down it by the half-gallon.  In a day.  Easily.

69. Do you have tattoos? If yes, how many and where are they?
Nope.

70. Are your parents still together?
Nope.

71. What is/was your worst subject in school?
Math(s).

72. Do you like to dance?
NO.  Okay, wait:  Alone, yes.  Either on a whim, or that/plus as exercise.  I call it "spazzercise" (a commentary on what I probably look like, dancing).

73. Do you drink?
No.

74. Do you smoke?
No.

75.Have you ever cheated in a relationship?
No.  I also have not had a relationship.  (Not for reals.)  Please don't laugh.  I'm picky, and also up until the end of last year, did not truly know what I want.

And, I wait.  I'm a waiter.

-But anyway, I would not cheat.

76. If you don't recognize the number on your caller ID, do you answer?
Nope.

77. What did you dress up as last Halloween?
I didn't.

78. Which are your favorite animals?
That one and that one.  *points*

79.Do you like short or long hair on a boy/girl?
On boys I generally like short hair, and on girls I generally like medium to long hair.

80. Name 3 of the Sexiest parts of a boy's/girl's body?
Face, waist, and thighs.  (For guys, probably substitute 'chest' for 'waist.')

Tabrett Bethell is an actress, an Australian, a self-described very private person, the cutest thing in the world, a Taurus (like me!), an apparently very charming person with a great sense of humor, described as "very spiritual" by a friend, someone who seems to have humanitarian concerns, and who is, hands down, one of the most entrancing actors to watch that I have ever known.

She is also (fairly obviously) quite beautiful.  She worked as a model for a number of years, but her dream was always of being an actor:

If you woke up surrounded by doctors who told you that you'd been in a medical experiment since birth and that your entire life had been a dream, how do you think you'd react?

First, there would be:   >_>

Then, they would have 30 seconds to answer the question "Why?" and answer it well.

Depending on my satisfaction with the answer, there then either would not, or would be, a bloodbath.*

You're on a crashing plane and your partner is fast asleep. Would you wake her/him up to say 'I love you' one last time or let her/him die in her/his sleep?

Well, I can't help the ever-so-rational argumentative part of my brain that says:  No way said partner is going to remain asleep through the whole plummet-to-crash before just miraculously dying upon impact.  Unless they were heavily sedated. ;) lol

(In which case I ask myself:  Do I really want to be with someone who gets that sauced all the time??)

So here I am, plane's plummetting, and I'm pondering why I'm really with this person...not my impending death.  lol

Naw...OK.  Here:  Assuming this scenario is feasible~ I think I'd wake them.  But not really to say anything; just to look into their eyes, and hold them, hold their hand.  But this kind of assumes they were gonna wake up, anyway.  And even if they weren't...I think they'd want to know.  You know?  Want to know that their last moments on earth were upon them, and maybe want to 'be there' with me, too.  At least, I think any partner of mine would hold that same feeling.

I have a hard time imagining myself with someone who would wake up in the afterlife, slap me for waking them, with a scowly face, and say "WTF were you thinking?!?"

Just not my kind.  :p  ;)

FOREWARNING:  Some of these could be considered *mildly* spoilery.

(Though, if you don't know that the protagonist, Beth, *probably* has a baby, by now--you might need more help than I can give you.  xD )

T is for Tabrett...~and~ ThankfulCollapse )

It is my professional opinion that Ms. Bethell needs to hold more babies.  Lots of them.  :D
